*** 2011 Year-End Distributions ***
Mutual funds are required to distribute income and gains to their shareholders in order to avoid income and excise taxes. The shareholders in turn must include these distributions as income for tax purposes whether the distribution was received in cash or reinvested in additional shares. Dividends are currently taxed at the more favorable long-term capital gain rates.
Dividends paid during 2011 are taxable as ordinary dividends for federal tax purposes. These dividends are taxable whether received in cash or reinvested in additional shares of the Portfolio. A certain percentage of the dividends paid by the Portfolios during 2011 are classified as “Qualified Dividends” and may qualify for a maximum tax rate of 15%. Complete information for your account will be computed and reported on your 2011 Form 1099-DIV which will be sent to you in February 2012.
2011 Semi-Annual Distributions
The New Century Balanced and Alternative Strategies Portfolios will not be paying Semi-Annual Distributions. Dividends, if any, will be paid to shareholders on December 31, 2011.
The New Century Capital, Opportunistic and International Portfolios pay dividends, if any, on an annual basis each December.
